History

Gulf Atlantic Marketing, Inc was started in Jacksonville, Florida in January, 1979. Scott Clarke and Bill Sturgis, his business partner until Bill's passing in 1998, believed that their principals were looking for a professional sales and marketing group to represent them to their customers. Not just a "marine" representative group, the company expanded its coverage to the industrial and aviation markets. With continual sales growth over the next 10 years, the company moved to Winter Park, Florida, in 1988. Many of the product lines that the company represents have been with it for over 20 years. After being one of the original founders of Gulf Atlantic and 28 years of success Scott Clarke sold Gulf Atlantic to Rob Chuy and Neal Trombley in July 2007.

Neal Trombley 

Neal came to Gulf Atlantic Marketing in January of 2000 and has played a vital role in the success and growth of the company. His positive attitude and 20 years of Marine & Boating experience is what Scott Clarke was looking for. Neal's history took him from cleaning boat bottoms to a marine rigger & mechanic in his home town of Fort Myers. He then started his sales career with Land N Sea Distributing where he enjoyed great success hitting his goals every year. His Hobbies include, boating, flying, golf and travel.  Neal enjoys spending time with his wife, Cindi, and their two boys, Chase and Bryce.

Rob Chuy

Rob came to Gulf Atlantic Marketing in September 2005. A South Florida native, Rob had grown up around the marine industry. After graduating University of Miami in 2002 he went to work at Merritt Marine Supply. Here he honed in his business skills working as an outside sales representative in the Miami-Dade territory, and gaining valuable knowledge of the composites industry. Now he resides in Dallas, TX and covers the gulf coast markets as well into OK, AR, MO, and KS

Scott Clarke


Scott Clarke began his professional sales career after graduating from FTU, Orlando (now UCF) in 1972. He joined the pharmaceutical sales force for GD Searle & Co in Jacksonville, Fl. Scott was promoted in 1974 to corporate headquarters in Skokie, IL, where he worked in the marketing department. Record snowfall and a warm job opportunity in Florida put him back in Jacksonville working for Charles Perry Co. In 1979, he started Gulf Atlantic Marketing, Inc with Bill Sturgis, his business partner until Bill's passing in 1998. Scott continues serving his customers, some he has had relationships with for the past 32 years.
